What Offline Shop is
Offline Shop (Offline Shop - Inventory POS, by BinaryScript) turns a phone into a till for a small retail shop.
It scores 80 out of 100, number 2 of the seven apps we compared.
What it does well for a small shop
- No internet needed. Its listing says your products, orders and customers stay on your phone, and you sign in only if you want a cloud backup.
- Stock. Products with cost and selling price and the margin on each, a minimum level, and a list of what is running low. Every change in stock keeps its reason.
- Barcodes, or a search by name when there is none.
- Receipts you can print or share, in A4 or the small thermal size.
- Reports for today, this week, this month or any dates, with your best sellers.
- 29 languages and 55 currencies, and a fingerprint lock.
- No ads, and its Data safety section declares no data shared with other companies.
What to watch
- Without paying, it allows up to 50 orders a month. A busy kiosk passes that in a day or two. A subscription or a lifetime purchase removes the limit and adds encrypted cloud backup.
- Its listing tracks whether each sale is paid, but does not describe a credit book for customers or a record of what you owe suppliers.
- Ratings vary a lot by country: 3.8 in Nigeria, 4.6 in Ghana and 4.8 in Kenya on the same day.

Who should choose it
A small retail shop with barcoded goods, few sales on credit, and an owner or helper who prefers a language other than English. Count your sales first: if you sell more than 50 times a month, budget for the subscription.
